As we enter the final planning stages for Summer RISE 2018, we are in awe of the deep commitment our career hosts have to our high school juniors and seniors participating in this unique program. With the help of our hosts, we will provide an experience for at least 475 students!
The excitement is palpable as hosts share their plans with us on how they are structuring their 3-week experience to expose students to the wide-ranging career opportunities that will be available to them. Equally gratifying is the value our hosts place on the participation of students in their workdays. Many see Summer RISE as beneficial to both student and career host.
An example of this deep commitment is Gaithersburg-based MedImmune. MedImmune is hosting 20 students this year and their leadership team has planned an exciting schedule for each student. While MedImmune is known for biohealth research and development, students will have opportunities to shadow professionals in logistics, employee engagement, data analytics, legal, and more. Exposing students to the plethora of careers in just one organization translates to future opportunities for our young adults.
Thank you to all hosts for stepping up and making an impact on our future workforce.
