Position Description

WorkSource Montgomery, Inc. (WSM) is seeking to fill the position of Disability Resource Coordinator (DRC) with a professional who is passionate about serving individuals with disabilities. The DRC will work with a team of partners to deliver a continuum of workforce services to individuals with significant disabilities in Montgomery County. This position is a project-based 1099 position (funded through April 30, 2020). 

Responsibilities, Tasks, & Operations

  • Increase access for the Individual Job Seeker with a disability to the wide array of Job Center Services and programs.
  • Ensure that needed supports and accommodations are in place when needed. 
  • Assist in identifying and leveraging disability-related resources and partners to support collaboration on career pathway efforts for individuals with disabilities.
  • Coordinate the Integrated Resource Team.
  • Lead the local Cohesive Resource Committee.
  • Advise the statewide Cohesive Resource Committee on how to effectively promote the participation of individuals with disabilities in career pathways systems and programs.
  • Coordinate with existing Career Pathway programs’ direct service delivery staff, including career advisers.
  • Assist Local Workforce Development Areas, American Job Center staff, community colleges, businesses, and other partners to successfully support individuals with disabilities via offering professional development opportunities.
  • Assist in the recruitment of individuals with disabilities to participate in Career Pathways programs and to take advantage of the services available through the American Job Center system.
  • Perform outreach on behalf of the AJC to engage individual job seekers with disabilities into the customer flow.
  • Ensures that individual customers with disabilities have access to the customer flow, and the outcomes associated with that flow, once engaged.
  • Ensure staff has the support they need to provide services to customers with disabilities (i.e. training, access to accommodations, additional resources).
  • Provide Technical Assistance to American Job Center staff if needed.
  • Identify programmatic challenges to access impacting many individuals with disabilities and or challenges to employment.
  • Advise on programmatic solutions based on individual examples.
  • Facilitate Integrated Resource Team Meeting with Customer, Career Adviser and other service systems involved.
  • Assess customer eligibility/suitability of WIOA.
  • Facilitate WIOA Orientations 1x per month for DEI customers.
  • Compile data and complete monthly report based on individuals served.
  • Communicate with disability related partners.

Position Description

WorkSource Montgomery, Inc. (WSM) is seeking to fill the position of Reports and Events Consultant who will coordinate with a small team that is assisting women and men who are currently training within the Tech Hire and America’s Promise USDOL grant program. WSM is proud to be a partner in this effort led by Montgomery College. This position is a part-time role and is funded through a federal grant opportunity.

Responsibilities

This program is designed to support individuals in obtaining training and job placement for
information technology positions that are needed in our region. Specific duties for this position
include:

  • Ensures compliance and reporting of program activities.
  • Supports the administrative, event and reporting requirements of the program.
  • Consults with American Job Center and WSM staff to determine objectives, requirements, and/or format for events, such as recruitment events, career fairs, special meetings, conferences, and conventions.
  • Ensures administrative coordination takes place and that data reporting and accountability on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Assist with coordination services for events, such as proper registration in portals such as the Maryland Workforce Exchange, accommodation and transportation for participants, facilities, catering, signage, displays, special needs requirements, printing, and event security.
  • Support the development of graphs, charts, and other data reporting methodology for presentation.
  • Confer with staff to ensure proper accountability and reporting of all outcomes and measures.
  • Ensure the close and continuous use of all data reporting software and other methods.
  • Maintain records of event aspects, including attendance, placement, and registration details.
  • Monitor event activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and laws, the satisfaction of participants, and resolution of any problems that arise.

Knowledge, Skills, and Talent Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Human resource and employment staffing experience
  • Knowledge and experience working with an American Job Center (AJC)
  • Past career event coordination and planning experience
  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheet development and data reports

Job Location

11002 Veirs Mill Road, Wheaton, MD. Some travel around Montgomery County is required to attend events and meetings.
