Upwardly Global

The Gilchrist Center

The Gilchrist Center is a gateway for County immigrants: they can obtain information and referrals to programs and services offered by government agencies and community organizations, strengthen their life skills through English and basic computer classes, and increase their knowledge to prepare for civic life and/or U.S. citizenship. The Gilchrist Immigrant Resource Center is a community where residents can contribute their talents to help others, and it is a testament to Montgomery County’s commitment to building one of the world’s most welcoming communities.

The Literacy Council

The Literacy Council of Montgomery County (LCMC) sustains and grows the social and economic equity of adults in our region through education and workforce training. LCMC teaches adults to read, write, and speak English in a vibrant multicultural community where English proficiency is a tool for success. LCMC offers no cost English as a Second Language classes.
