Prescription Funding
Provides limited funding for immediate Rx (prescription) needs. The program assists clients by paying for a prescribed medication that the client cannot afford. Our goal is to connect clients with community services that have established prescription programs in place. However, we may be able to bridge that gap by paying for a prescription now, and then we will advise you of low cost alternatives and programs for which you may apply to on your own. Note: Not all medications can be funded by our program. We DO NOT assist a client in getting a written prescription or talking to doctors. If you are interested in participating in the Rx program, you must: 1.) Have a valid, current prescription written by your doctor. 2.) Be willing to take or transfer your prescription to a local participating Gaithersburg Pharmacy. **See your HHS caseworker for long-term coverage applications.

Transportation
Provides rides to medical and social service agency appointments. We can provide you with up to 18 rides per calendar year. You must be a senior or an adult with disabilities that is unable to take public transportation. Our caring volunteer drivers will pick you up at your designated time, to get you to and from your destination in a timely manner. You're destination must be within a 20 mile driving distance of downtown Gaithersburg. Should a volunteer driver not be available, we may be able to provide you with a voucher to use for a taxi cab ride. Taxi rides are limited to one-way or round trip to and/or from a single destination, i.e. multiple stops are not permitted. Taxi rides may only be granted for the local area (distances up to 10 miles) and only if we cannot find a volunteer driver for your ride. Rides are no cost to you, but you are responsible for any parking fees where applicable. Please be prepared to pay cash or credit/debit card for any facilities that charge for parking and do not validate.
