We are all faced with the reality that there are new changes that affect the world around us as we age and grow older. Ageism causes society to discount, and at times completely discard the wisdom and experience acquired by people over the course of adulthood. Overcoming this culture may be difficult but, it is possible. Our workforce should not rob younger people of hope for a decent later life or erode the satisfaction and sense of productivity that should animate our later years. Once we open our eyes to the pervasiveness of ageism, however, we can begin to fight it. During this workshop, we will discuss how to overcome challenges that are faced daily and what can be done to improve the quality of our professional lives.
***All workshops scheduled for our American Job Centers located in Wheaton and Germantown will go on as planned but will now take place online. You can access them via our web calendar. Participants must register on the Maryland Workforce Exchange (MWE). Once registered, you’ll be emailed an invitation with instructions to attend the workshop at the scheduled time.
