After a layoff, people find new jobs, get additional training, or change careers. The time involved may be a few days, weeks, or many months, and going through the process can be hard. Knowing what can happen when you are laid off can help you avoid derailment as you continue your job search. By being aware of what can happen and taking preventative steps, you can reduce stress. In this workshop, we will cover the change process, learn about the changes in the job market as well as look at the 6 cycles of unemployment. We will look at the effects of layoff and some coping strategies to help manage.
***All workshops scheduled for our American Job Centers located in Wheaton and Germantown will go on as planned but will now take place online. You can access them via our web calendar. Participants must register on the Maryland Workforce Exchange (MWE). Once registered, you’ll be emailed an invitation with instructions to attend the workshop at the scheduled time.
