Search for New One-Stop Operator Underway

As the New Year begins, WorkSource Montgomery is nearing the deadline in its search for a high-performing contractor with the expertise to provide One-Stop Operator (OSO) services for its American Job Centers in Montgomery County, under the provisions of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).

Sealed proposals must be received at WorkSource Montgomery’s headquarters, at 1801 Rockville Pike, Suite 320, Rockville, Maryland 20852, by no later than Friday, January 11 at 4 p.m. EST. A pre-bid conference was held in December for prospective bidders. Questions and answers posed at that meeting and from prior online submissions are posted on the WorkSource Montgomery website.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Public Law 113-128, was signed on July 22, 2014 and became effective July 1, 2015.  WIOA empowers Local Workforce Boards to develop strategies that support economic growth and labor force needs intended to grow the capacity and performance of the workforce system.  WIOA promotes seamless service delivery to employers and jobseekers through greater alignment of education, economic development, workforce systems and services.
