Amanda Iris Torres-García is the Administrative and Marketing Coordinator for WorkSource Montgomery, where she’s involved in a series of projects that contribute to the organization’s mission of connecting businesses to job seekers. Ms. Torres holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from the Medical Sciences Campus of the University of Puerto Rico and a Bachelor’s in Sociology from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey. Her vast research experience includes several projects related to workforce training within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, evaluating the implementation of a sanitation system inside a developing community in Haiti, and assessing health literacy within the personnel of hospital settings. With the latter project, Amanda was selected to present in the 4th Puerto Rican Conference of Public Health and the 6th International Congress of Health Promoting Universities, both events held in San Juan, Puerto Rico on March of 2013. Ms. Torres is also a founding member of the first Sociology Association at the University of Puerto Rico. Furthermore, she is also very passionate about the theater; while finishing her undergraduate degree she was part of a university theater company and has offered acting workshops to children and teenagers.
