Sarah Van De Weert

With fifteen years of political and communications experience, Sarah Van De Weert brings a wide range of expertise to WorkSource Montgomery. She spent six years in the New York State Legislature prior to relocating to Maryland where she’s held various roles with nonprofit organizations, businesses, and political campaigns. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA, and a Master’s degree in Political Communications from the University at Albany, SUNY in Albany, NY.

Sarah joined WSM in February 2019 serving as Director of Communications. In 2021, she transitioned to the role of Director of Government Relations. As Director of Government Relations, she works closely with Montgomery County Executive and Council offices and tracks workforce development legislation at the local, state, and federal levels. In addition, she is the main point of contact for all WSM Board inquiries and serves as the Montgomery County Workforce Development Board liaison.
