Project Search
The one year transition program provides employability skills-training and workplace internships for individuals with significant disabilities. Project SEARCH is modeled after the national program begun in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1996. While participating in the program, interns work with a team that includes the Business Partner (NIH, Montgomery County or Smithsonian), their family, a special education teacher (The Ivymount School), Job Coaches (SEEC, Community Rehab Partner) and vocational rehabilitation agencies (DORS, DDA, DDS, and RSA) to create employment goals, and support each student intern during this critical transition to work life.
Target Population : Young adults with intellectual disabilities (who are either in their last year of school or who are recent graduates)
