MoCo CAP, short for Montgomery County Career Advising Program, is an innovative and collaborative effort offered by the following partners:
With a goal of addressing the College and Career Readiness pillar laid out by the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future, MoCo CAP will help nearly 90,000 MCPS students in grades 6 through 12 develop the necessary skills to manage their own careers over their lifetime.
WSM’s Career Education Services’ managers will oversee around 50 MoCo CAP Career Coaches, who will be placed in every public middle and high school throughout the county. These Career Coaches work with MCPS educators to help students explore career paths and options that interest them and play to their unique strengths by using RIASEC (Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, and Conventional) themes.
