Halal Meals on Wheels

This comprehensive Social Outreach and Support model program is conducted by teams of AMSS multi-cultural Health and Long -Term Care Outreach Ambassadors. Since COVID-19, AMSS has formed Rapid Response Ambassadors Teams to meet the multitude of emergency requests for food, shelter, medical and financial support, and the increased isolation of our vulnerable diverse members. AMSS Ambassadors are reaching out to an increasing number of isolated, underserved, and often chronically disabled, diverse older persons through friendly phone calls, home visits, and the delivery of bi-weekly hot halal meals, non-perishable food, and fresh produce. In addition, AMSS distributes gift cards and food baskets during the Holy month of Ramadan and special holiday events. Our Ambassadors regularly assess their client’s needs and connect them with county and community resources.

CNA Scholarship

AMSS CNA (Certified Nurses Assistant) program is designed to help and improve the quality of life of low income, multi-cultural young candidates through education and training and income security, and to meet the caregiver's needs for culturally sensitive CNA AMSS CNA Program has been offering scholarships since 2019 and graduated 57 young professionals. Special thanks to our generous community members, who continue to support the program, and our partnering home health agencies: Advanced Home Care and Care Plus, who provide them with employment opportunities.
