Pro Bono Program
The Pro Bono Program is a legal services provider that assists low-income residents of Montgomery County, Maryland in obtaining free legal representation in certain types of civil cases. Clients who qualify based on income can apply to be referred to volunteer private practice attorneys for free legal representation in the areas of absolute divorce, custody, name changes, adoption/guardianship, landlord/tenant (security deposits only), bankruptcy/debt collection matters, wills, powers of attorney, and in limited circumstances immigration and employment cases. Services are offered in Spanish and English.
 
Target Population: Most vulnerable low-income Montgomery County residents
Intake/Eligibility: Intake is done by calling the intake line. No walk-ins.
Pro Bono Program Legal Clinics
We offer low-income residents of Montgomery Couny, Maryland free one-on-one telephone consultations with attorneys. The in-person evening legal clinics continue to be postponed indefinitely due to COVID-19. Currently, clients can call the Pro Bono Program intake line to request to be scheduled for a legal advice appointment about a specific legal issue. Attorneys provide information and basic legal advice without any expectation of long-term representation in the areas of absolute divorce, custody, name changes, adoption/guardianship, landlord/tenant (security deposits only), bankruptcy/debt collection matters, wills, powers of attorney, and in limited circumstances immigration and employment cases. Services are offered in Spanish and English.
