Employment Services
Through Employment Services, SEEC supports individuals working in paid positions across various industries, including office settings, retail establishments, hotels, restaurants, government, and nonprofit agencies throughout Montgomery County.
Our staff facilitates experiences to help job seekers identify their vocational interests and ideal employment conditions. This discovery process leads to the creation of a Customized Employment Plan and a Visual Resume that job seekers can use in their employment search.
How We Support Job Seekers
- Helping individuals identify career paths through a structured discovery process.
- Developing a Customized Employment Plan and Visual Resume.
- Working with area employers to expand job opportunities that benefit both the job seeker and the business community.
- Providing Job Coaches who offer on-the-job support as needed, with a goal of increasing independence over time.
- Helping coworkers and supervisors establish natural workplace supports.
Project SEARCH
Our team supports individuals participating in Project SEARCH replications at:
- National Institutes of Health
- Montgomery County Government
- Embassy Suites Hotels
Project SEARCH is a school-to-work internship program designed for young adults with developmental disabilities to gain valuable work experience.
Entrepreneurial Support
SEEC also assists individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit in creating micro-enterprises that benefit their communities. Our supports are community-based and customized to meet each personโs goals.
Who Can Apply?
Eligibility: Individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ages 21 and above, who receive DDA funding.
