The Resource Center improves the daily lives of our clients and guests by offering: Information and referrals to support services personal mail and telephone use (view our Mail Policy) token assistance to reach shelter and support services. • toiletries and blankets • prescription assistance • crisis intervention • bilingual services Anyone that is in need of these services. No referral necessary.

Eye Clinic

The Eye Clinic addresses the need for vision testing, glaucoma screening, and prescription eyeglass service for patients without vision insurance. Opened in 1999, all services provided in the Eye Clinic are free for our guests. Referrals must be submitted by caseworkers and faxed to the Eye Clinic’s attention along with proof of income and proof of residency in the D.C. metropolitan area. Anyone that needs eye care. You must be eligible: • Must be an adult 18 years old or older • Household income must be below 175% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines • Must not have medical insurance that covers vision care • Must be referred by any authorized government agency or non-profit organization in the D.C Metropolitan areas.

Clothing Closet

The Clothing Closet provides clean, gently-used and seasonally appropriate clothing to our guests. At each visit, clients can select clothing, shoes, handbags and other accessories. The Clothing Closet is open every Friday from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

 

Target Population: Anyone that needs it.

Daily Meals

Shepherd’s Table provides hot nutritious meals every day to people in need. Everyone is welcome at our table! Since the organization was founded, we have grown to provide more than 130,000 meals without missing a single day. Hours for Daily Meals: Breakfast: 7:30 AM – 8:25 AM (M-F) Lunch: 11:45 AM – 1:00 PM (M-F) Dinner: 5:30 PM – 6:55 PM (daily) Weekend Brunch: 10:00 AM – 10:55 AM

 

Target Population: Anyone and everyone who needs a meal.

Intake/Eligibility: No referral necessary.
