GROW Apprenticeship Grant

What is GROW:  

Short for Grant Relief for On-boarding Workers, GROW is a financial grant awarded to Montgomery County businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The GROW program offered by WSM is supported 100% by the United States Department of Treasury as part of Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds as permitted by the American Rescue Plan Act.

What is a Registered Apprenticeship? 

Registered Apprenticeship is a proven training model offering access to a diverse array of well-paying occupations. It serves as a vital talent pipeline, addressing critical workforce challenges in various industries. While traditionally associated with construction trades, Registered Apprenticeship has expanded to include sectors like cyber security, clean energy, healthcare, and hospitality. 

GROW Apprenticeship Grant Benefits for Employers: 

  • Financial grants available for businesses registered as “Apprenticeship Certified” by the Department of Labor. 
  • Grants to supplement costs of hiring and training new employees. 
  • Opportunity to contribute to economic recovery and workforce development 

General Qualifications: 

  • Must be a Registered Apprenticeship by the Department of Labor 
  • Must hire full-time employment positions  
  • Must hire Montgomery County residents 
  • Maximum grant award of $30,000.
