Volunteer Helping Hands
Our community-based, non-medical hospice support program, serving Montgomery County residents, offers short-term, practical, social and emotional support for people of all ages with serious, life-limiting illnesses

Adult Bereavement Services
Our safe, confidential support groups are composed of caring people who are grieving a similar loss. Our members benefit from the collective wisdom and empathy of others who are traveling a similar path. All groups are facilitated by trained volunteers. Our facilitators participate regularly in continuing education, and they receive monthly supervision/consultation with a licensed mental health professional.
 
Target Population: All adults who have suffered the loss of a loved one

Parenting While Grieving: Supporting a Child Grieving the Death of a Parent
FREE 7-Week Workshop Series, participants will explore: • the impact of the loss on children • developmental reactions to the grief process • strategies for dealing with the challenges of parenting while grieving. The workshops include the practice of essential parenting skills, such as listening, expressing, problem-solving, and setting limits within the context of a grieving family. The series is facilitated online by CaringMatters' trained staff

The Whole You
The Whole You, a pilot program in partnership with The Shady Grove Adventist Aquilino Cancer Center, works with adults being treated for cancer or other blood disorders and their families, by providing assistance, free of charge, accessing social support services and other community resources.
